Dr. Zabih-Allah Torabi is a faculty member in the Department of Geography and Rural Planning at Tarbiat Modares University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tehran in 2018 with a thesis titled Designing Pro-Poor Ecotourism Model in Rural Areas, which won the universitys Best Thesis award in 2019. In 2021, he completed a postdoctoral course at the University of Tehran on developing smart tourism technologies in rural areas. Dr. Torabi research uses qualitative methodology to focus on village experiences in Iran regarding tourism development. He is particularly interested in rural development through tourism, poverty reduction in rural areas through tourism, smart rural tourism technologies, and rural second-home tourism.
