Dr. Aref Shamszadeh, born in 1991 in Rumeshkan County, Lorestan Province, began his academic journey by earning a B.Sc. in Applied Geology from Damghan University. He subsequently completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at Shahid Beheshti University and Shiraz University, respectively, concluding his doctoral studies in 2022. During 2018?2019, he undertook a one-year research stay at the University of Barcelona (Spain), specializing in analog modeling and salt tectonics. He further advanced his expertise by completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Tarbiat Modares University during 2024?2025, working on an industry-academic research project in collaboration with the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC). Alongside his academic research, Dr. Shamszadeh has accumulated over six years of industrial experience as a senior expert and consultant in structural geology and geophysics. He has actively contributed to more than ten EP projects of oil and gas fields in the Zagros region and the Persian Gulf. The outcomes of these projects have been documented in authoritative technical reports archived by national oil and gas companies.
